Designing for all
A core aspect of our work, and one that doesn’t fit nicely into our three core service areas, is digital accessibility.
The reason for that is simple: digital accessibility is a thread that starts at the very beginning of a project, runs through every stage and continues after completion. It’s at once a process and a goal. Every member of the team—from junior designers to directors—has completed the W3C Introduction to Web Accessibility, or is working towards it as part of their professional development.
If you’re a public body you have a requirement to meet accessibility regulations. But even if you’re not, our dedication to inclusive design means your product, app, website or service will be available to the widest possible audience. People with impaired vision, motor difficulties, cognitive impairments, or impaired hearing will be able to access your services unhindered by bad design. This makes business sense (at least 20% of the UK population has a long term illness, impairment or disability, with more having a temporary disability) but more importantly it enables people to live dignified, independent lives.
